9th conference of the UK Wastewater Network

November 4, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The 9th Conference of the UK Wastewater Network  took place on 4 November 2021.

This conference was the ninth of an annual series addressing innovative treatment options for wastewater treatment. This online event was an excellent opportunity for attendees to get the latest challenges and innovations for wastewater treatment at current and longer term, and interact on the topic with scientists and researchers from wastewater companies and leading global academic institutions.

Our full conference welcomed more than 50 delegates and 8 speakers from the industry and academia to discuss on a range of topics ranging including novel processes for converting biogas into hydrogen, routes to low carbon, energy positive sewage treatment, stakeholder engagement for the diffusion of circular water solutions and cold anaerobic wastewater treatment for sewage (see full programme below).

For the first time, the conference also hosted a vitural poster exhibition, sponsored by the International Water Association UK committee. The poster were presented as three-minute recorded presentations that are accessible on our website hereOur winner this year was Ravina Bains, PhD researcher at Cranfield University, for her poster on “Achieving Net-Zero – Hydrogen as a key factor for energy resilience and emission reduction for the UK Water sector“.
